You must have noticed during the pandemic that everyone in the world is suffering. No-one on the planet is immune, and our governments are learning that to control this virus, co-operation is essential. No-one will be safe until we’re all safe.
That’s because, despite history and tradition, it’s not true to think that there are different races on this planet. There’s in fact only one race: human. We’re not all identical. We come in a glorious range of sizes, shapes, temperaments and abilities, and we come in a wonderful range of skin colour, hair colour and texture, eye colour, face shape, hip sizes and fingernail lengths!
We express ourselves within a huge range of cultures and social structures, through different forms of government, and different styles of art, literature, drama, music and technology. We’re creative beyond measure.
We’re all constructed in the same way, our DNA is the same, our hopes, desires, and longings are the same. We all feel joy and pain. We all have the ability to assess the world for ourselves, to learn, and to take decisions.
We are the magnificent creation of a single Great Being that some of us acknowledge and some choose not to.
We’re a single race of diverse individuals: what should we do to recognise and act on our obvious unity in our diversity?
