Riḍván

The garden of Riḍván (Paradise) was where, in 1863, Bahá’u’lláh  declared to his followers that he was the Promised One of all ages. The 12 day festival celebrates this momentous event.

Declaration of the Báb, 1844

At the age of 25, Siyyid `Alí Muḥammad claimed to be a messenger of God. He took the title Báb (Gate), and  in  his book the Bayán (Explanation), he taught that he was the Forer-runner for 'him whom God shall make manifest', who would be the Promised One of all ages.
